Diana Taurasi Breaks Records

Phoenix Mercury Star (arguably the best player to ever play the game) Diana Taurasi broke the WNBA record for most career 3 point shots made, shooting past Katie Smith's record of 906.

Taurasi accomplished this feat during Thursday's 99-91 win over the struggling Chicago Sky.  In that same game she passed WNBA Legend Tamika Catching for 2nd place in all time scoring. Taurasi now only trails Tina Thompson by 90 points.

  • Taurasi is now 34 & entering the beginning of her retire at home contract.
  • Taurasi entered the game tied with Smith & hit her record-breaking 907th 3-pointer early in the 1st.
  • She ended 8/14 at 3's & scored a game-high 37 points, her highest in a game since 2010.

WNBA preSeason 2017

On April 29th the Dallas Wings and the San Antonio Stars will go
toe-to-toe in Texas, facing off in the first preseason game of the
2017 WNBA season.

Over the past few days, each team has reported to training camp. As
always with the WNBA most teams are missing key players as they finish
their overseas season. Training camp and preseason combine for less
than an month, so these few weeks of practice are extremely important
for teams to really set the foundation of their season.

The excitement for this season is high. It builds off of an amazing
2016 WNBA finals which was followed by a well-received draft. We are
very excited to cover the many story lines the league has to offer,
