Sparks win game 1

L.A. blows a 26 point lead but pulls off a last second shot to win.

The WNBA Finals got off to a dominating start for the LA Sparks as they took a 28-2 lead in the first quarter. Minnesota was able to stop the bleeding at the end of the quarter, but they still trailed by 21. The second quarter was a totally different story; the Lynx charged back, getting turnovers on one end, then finally showing up on the boards and making shots.

The Second Half:

Scoring! With the big names in foul trouble for the sparks (Parker, Ogwumike, Beard), the powerful backcourt had to step up. Odyssey Sims and Chelsea Gray were as hot as could be, creating opportunities and shooting at will. The Lynx slowly chipped away at the deficit and even traded leads late in the 4th, but the last second dagger by Gray effectively ended the game.
