Lynx respond in game 2 (70-68)
Lynx flex early but spudder to a 2 point win.
Game 2 started as the Lynx dicated, leading early and looking like the agresser. The first quarter ended at 26-10. L.A. picked up the pace but never looked like they had a chance to win until the 3rd came along. Just like game 1 this was far from over. Minnesota cooled off but played steller defence to close the game out.
- Lynx shot 44.4% in the game, Sparks shot 38.7%
- Lynx out-rebounded Los Angeles 36-29.
- Sparks had 2 second chance points, Lynx had 10.
Thanks to Immersive sports we have the detailed stat break down of each player and each quarter.
A KEY for both teams was playing smart (important players not fouling early) but also spreading the love when it comes to points. Both teams did a great job of spreading the ball and getting points from all their players. The Lynx made work of the Sparks when they could push the pace but the Sparks were butchers when they could get cuts to the basket. At the end of the day the team that got more points from more players won the game. Momentum was a factor from start to finish. Lindsey Whalen made the Barn rock when the Lynx needed it most.
