Mystics look to cool off red-hot Sun
By Rachel Galligan
The league-leading Sun host the Mystics tonight at 7 ET (ESPN2).
The Sun, who are coming off an 89-75 victory over the Lynx last weekend and are currently on a two-game winning streak, sport a 7-1 record. They currently lead the league in numerous statistical categories, including scoring (92.6 per game), field-goal percentage (47 percent), rebounding (39.9 per game), assists (21.1 per game) and three-point shooting percentage (35.5 percent).
The Mystics are 5-4 and will look to get back in the win column and end a three-game losing streak. Washington was off to one of the hottest starts of the WNBA season at 4-0 before being plagued with multiple illnesses and injuries, including an illness which briefly sidelined All-Star Elena Delle-Donne.
Despite the recent skid of the Mystics, this is a powerhouse matchup with two teams capable of scoring in high volume. The Sun have scored over 100 points in three games so far.
In the first meeting between the two teams on June 3, the Sun scorched the Mystics 88-64 thanks to a 25-point performance by Jasmine Thomas.
