Dream @ Lynx Game Recap
Sylvia Fowles with no Regard for Human Life
St Paul - A game buzzing with excitement for both teams got off to a surprising start. The Dream jumped out of the gate with stifling D, holding the Lynx to 1-7 in the first 6 min of the game. But like she has 1000 times in her career Maya Moore put the team on her back. She led her squad in scoring and steals at the half with 12 and 3 respectively.
The Dream took the bull by the horns in the 3rd quarter dominating all facets of the game. A good defensive scheme forced Minnesota to become sloppy with the basketball. At one stretch in the 3rd quarter the Lynx turned the ball over on bad passes 3 straight possessions. Gotta give props when props are due Layshia Clarendon put on a show. ATL outscored MN by 11 in the 3rd and she posted 18 points on 9 of 12 shooting.
The fun ended there for the Dream. The Lynx started playing their brand of basketball, gained some momentum, and never looked back. Let me end the recap with a few statistics. The Dream went 18 straight 4th quarter possessions without a score to open the 4th, and failed to make a FG in the entire quarter. The Lynx won the 4th 23-2 and beat the Dream by a final score of 69-54.
Something to watch out for. With 12 games left the Lynx are only 8 wins away from the WNBA record for wins in a season at 29 by the Phoenix Mercury in 2014.
